I went through my "Speedmaster phase" that many enthusiasts do, where I fell in love, obsessed and link memorized all the details to tell the references apart, and quickly forgot nearly all of it. I've been looking for a Speedmaster that would catch my eye and this, with a nod to bits of history – the DON bezel, white dial link for the "Alaska Project," the red text like you saw on a recent white-dialed Seamaster – might finally be link the one that does the trick.

The methodology was link straightforward. The researchers photographed twenty different watches, with the hands set to link 10:10, 11:30, and 8:20, producing sixty pictures. The pictures were then shown to a group of 20 link men and 26 women in the first run of the experiment, and 11 men and 12 women in the second run. The experiment found that the 10:10 setting produced the highest pleasure rating of all three settings, and also that it was the only setting interpreted as a smiling face.

I saw Rudner's 300 SL (the 300 SL, by the way, was produced from 1954 to 1957 and it's one of link the most iconic of all post-war Mercs) at the tail end of the day at Pebble and it was almost shocking. For the most part, both Quail and Pebble are link dominated by almost oppressively flawless cars that don't show their age in the slightest – in fact, most of them look as if they drove right off the factory floor, through a link time-bridging wormhole, and straight onto the lawn at Pebble.

The first two references feature a quartz link movement, while the last one is punctuated link by the L592 caliber, a mechanical self-winding movement that beats at a frequency of 4hz and delivers 40 hours of link power reserve.

I reset it. The seconds hand link didn’t move. I saw that there were other things on the watch link face. From my trip to the Patek Philippe Museum, I guessed that these were complications: A running seconds subdial located at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour subdial located at 6 o’clock, a 30-minute link subdial located at 9 o’clock. I would worry about those once I got the seconds hand moving.

Let me get ahead of link this, I know this is a rare watch. It's estimated that approximately 400 examples were produced – 300 in yellow gold and 100 in rose gold. Among the watches on link this list, this is going to be one of the hardest to find. The reference 2532, a sibling of the 2533 with subsidiary seconds, expands that production estimate by 200. We have 600 of these to link hunt.

For those link of you with link poor time management skills (I'm looking at me), this is likelier to mean three chances of noticing you missed the boat, instead of one (followed by colorful language). But if you're a Ming-loving clock-watcher, it means a much better than usual chance of finding yourself with one – or hey, why not both? – models in your collection. link Forewarned is forearmed.

This watch is part of the broader Spitfire line link released at SIHH in 2019 which included the link Chronograph Spitfire and Automatic Spitfire among others. The watch itself contains an in-house IWC caliber 82760 and was built to withstand the tests of time. A special occasion calls for link a special watch, and it doesn't get more special than this.

The two Seikos still link work perfectly and would make good boat anchors. My son keeps asking when he can have them. Reply link - when my link body temp drops well below 98.7 degrees for several hours and rigor mortis is confirmed – then they are yours!! In the meantime they are living in a bank security box.

There were, believe it or not, weeks, if not months of discussion about, "Do we put the logo or not on the Mega Cool?" I mean, Mega Cool was the code name for the project. When we saw the first prototypes (and it was with and link without the logo), everybody was like, "this link is very mega cool," which is a very Swiss-German way of saying it is incredible. So we said, okay, let's keep that name for the watch. At Moser, we always talk about logos, and there's always link this question.
