Until the past year, when Racquet began working on a watch collaboration, my relationship with timepieces was not dissimilar to the world of art, where for me a culture of link prices and collectibility seemed to outweigh the purely joyful experience of wearing a timepiece that might not have value but instead plenty of personal meaning. That all changed for me after I found my grandmother's 1953 Helbros in a dusty corner of her Phoenix home, years after her death.
