Those early astronauts, The Mercury Seven and so on, were famously car guys, too – link specifically fans of big-block equipped Chevy Corvettes. Wally Schirra drove a Corvette and wore an Omega Speedmaster reference 2998-4. Of course, link that was the watch that built the modern Omega "First OMEGA In Space," as it was just that. The watch we link have here is a ref. 2998-6.
I'll be link honest, I spent a lot longer wearing the small yellow gold model with diamonds. Its poor stainless steel cousin never stood a serious chance at gracing my wrist for longer than 10 minutes. And after trying on both metals in all the sizes I suddenly understood what was at play: The changes had made this watch more unisex. The brushed satin, the larger case sizes, the more substantial bracelet.
